Early Beginnings
Hello! I'm Timothy Dupuy, the founder of Verylingua. I was born from a melting pot of languages and cultures, with a British mother and a French father. Raised in a home where education was a playful, storytelling adventure, my passion for languages was ignited in the laughter and learning of those early days. Hello! A Young Teacher Is Born
My journey into teaching started unexpectedly at the age of 12, when I began tutoring my friends' brothers and sisters. These early experiences not only helped me earn my pocket money but also showed me the profound impact of personalised and fun learning. Crafting vocabulary games and pronunciation exercises, I found joy in seeing my students excel. Cross-cultural Inspiration
At 16, during a transformative year abroad in Oaxaca, I was enveloped in Mexico's rich culture. The educators I met there were not just teachers but passionate storytellers, who infused their lessons with life and vigour. It was there that I learned the actual power of language—that it connects, empowers, and transcends boundaries—through its native speakers and their stories.
